You might have heard of dry brushing. It’s this trendy and popular thing to do for your skin and blood circulation. Dry brushing has gained fans worldwide and made beauty retailers everywhere stock up on the familiar natural looking brushes used for this beauty routine. Here’s why and how I dry brush, and what the benefits of dry brushing are. Dry brushing is pretty much exactly what it sounds like – brushing over your skin in circular motions using a dry brush. The brushes used for this practice are usually made of cactus sisal bristles, with a wooden handle. A brush made out of cactus might sound like the last thing you want to be running up and down your body. Don’t worry, the brushes – although slightly rough – aren’t like the kind of thistles you’re imagining. And it’s not meant to be painful or break the skin. So…

I’m sure you’ve heard that green tea is good for you. Perhaps you often opt for green tea at your local café or sip on it for breakfast. But do you know what’s so great about green tea?  I’m a green tea drinker myself. I have at least one cup a day. I drink it because I like it, and because I’m aware of the advertised benefits of it. I thought I’d share some of them with you. What’s so Great about Green Tea? Just a little disclaimer: the following are the alleged benefits of green tea. I’m not a scientist so I can’t promise all these benefits are correct. The bottom line is: drink it if you like it. If you don’t, then don’t drink it. The green leaves that the tea is made of are full of good nutrients like polyphenols which help reduce inflammation. These nutrients are also claimed to…

Beauty products and makeup is fun! But we need to be choosy about which products we invest in so that we’re not supporting animal testing or harming the environment. These are my makeup favorties! As much as possible, I try to purchase organic and vegan products. This applies not only to my makeup products but also to the food I purchase and eat. I don’t want to invest my money in companies who are testing their beauty products on animals, nor do I want to use products that are going to harm the environment. I also don’t want to put makeup or other beauty products on my body that contain ingredients and chemicals that are going to be harmful to my skin and body. So organic and vegan (as much as possible) is my best option! My Makeup Favorites Ok, so not all of these are makeup, but they’re all…

I don’t know how anyone could get tired of smoothies. But, let’s say you have, you’re so done with smoothies you can’t even. Then this is the kind of smoothie you need to make to get back into the swing of it – a Unicorn Smoothie! I make smoothies several times a week and I like to play around with different ingredients. The base is always bananas and I like to add protein powder to my smoothies too, to get a bit of extra protein. The key is to use frozen bananas, that’s how you get that super refreshing and thick smoothie – the way it should be! I recently got some blue spirulina powder and pink pitaya powder, so now I can make my smoothies super blue or pink! Or, do a mix of the colors to make a unicorn smoothie! Blue spirulina is a blue pigment derived from blue-green algae. What…

Sometimes, neither tea nor coffee is what I’m craving, but I still want something warm to sip on while I write or to go with my snack. Sometimes that’s a matcha latte, other times, it’s a Rainbow Latte! With all the fun superfood powders available now that naturally color your food in the most delicious looking shades of pink, blue, green, yellow… you name it! The possibilities for your rainbow latte really are endless. For my rainbow latte I opted for purple and achieved the color by mixing pink and blue. The pink is pitaya powder and the blue is blue spirulina powder – the same I used to make my blue smoothie bowl! Of course, a pink latte or a  blue latte (as pictured above) are every bit as gorgeous, but have fun with it, mix and match powders and see what colors you get! To make this purple…

The other day I added some (more) color to my smoothie bowl and made it blue! This blue smoothie bowl is made with blue spirulina and tastes just as colorfully delicious as it looks! The weather here in Sweden has been i n s a n e lately. And by insane I mean fantastic! It’s been 80-85F (25-30C) every day, clear blue skies, and sunshine all day long. This heat is making me crave cool smoothie bowls every day  (or maybe I’m just using the sunshine as an excuse to justify eating smoothie bowls all the time). My pantry is always stocked with the perfect smoothie bowl toppings like coconut chips, cacao nibs, dried apple bits, raw chocolate buttons, and of course peanut butter. In my freezer is a big bag of chopped up frozen banana chunks for making smoothie bowls, and frozen berries that I also like to top my smoothie…

There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t have at least one snack. My snacks vary and I have my favorites, but a quick, filling and protein packed snack I love it Peanut Butter Banana Toast. I stopped by the health food store a couple of days ago. Having not been there in a couple of weeks, my basket quickly filled with staples as well as some new products I found in stock. One thing that went straight in my basket is this 100% sprouted rye bread, that I used to buy all the time before to have toasted with peanut butter and banana on top. I haven’t had it in ages! Peanut Butter Banana Toast is so simple and a great snack! It packs all the good stuff you need – healthy fats, good carbs and protein! Health benefits aside, sometimes you just want to eat something because…

I’m a morning person and have been for years. I never sleep in, not even on the weekends, I don’t want to miss my morning time. Here’s what my morning usually looks like. My Morning Routine I wake up at 4.50am. My phone (which doubles as my alarm) is away from from my bed, so I have to get up to turn it off. I never snooze my alarm. First thing(s) I do in the morning I get my gym clothes on, take my supplements, and drink a glass of water. My gym bag and clothes have already been prepared the night before so I don’t have to think about (or forget) any of that in the morning. Before heading to the gym/work I I live a stone’s throw from my gym, which opens at 6am. So, I could get up 10 minutes before the gym opens and head straight out. However, I…
